About Revolution Audio

Revolution Audio is owned and operated by Lloyd Canham. With 25 years in the audio post industry, Lloyd can offer your production unequalled expertise. His work history began at Mandrill Recording Studios in Parnell, recording commercials and jingles by day and then working late into the night recording music projects.

After four years at Mandrill, Lloyd headed offshore to the UK, where he worked for six years for one of London’s premier audio facilities- The Tape Gallery, a Soho based four studio complex, specialising in advertising. At The Tape Gallery Lloyd worked on some major accounts including Levis, BMW, Burger King UK, Fosters, for some of London’s leading agencies.

He rose through the company from Senior Engineer, to Chief Engineer and finally Studio Manager, responsible for the day to day running of a major facilities house, by then comprising five studios, a music composition arm and a fledgling sound effects and music libraries company. Lloyd won several industry awards at The Tape Gallery for his contribution to audio.

After returning to NZ, Lloyd bought a share of Mandrill Audio Post, at that stage still in Parnell, and was instrumental in planning it’s design and move to Grafton, where it is currently situated within the Images complex. With this company, he maintained an advertising focus but gradually moved into the documentary and drama fields, where he won several local and international audio accolades.
Since selling his share in Mandrill, Lloyd went on to freelance for several years, until deciding in 2008 to design and build his own audio studio.
